Second quarterly settlement of the year:

TONO distributes EUR 18,9 million

TONO distributes 18.9 million euros to rights holders in Norway and abroad in this year’s second quarterly settlement. Out of the total settlement amount, EUR 5,66 million is distributed to TONO members, and EUR 12,81 million is distributed to composers, lyricists, songwriters, and music publishers abroad. The payout date to TONO members is June 9, while the payout to TONO’s sister societies will be on June 23.

TONO is a collective management organization. Broadcasters, streaming services, concert organizers, and others who want to use the music TONO has been authorized to manage on behalf of 40,000 Norwegian members and millions of rightsholders from 78 sister societies worldwide obtain our permission to use the music – in exchange for payment. As a nonprofit society, we then distribute TONO royalties to composers, lyricists, songwriters, and music publishers in Norway and abroad.

TONO´s members receive EUR 5,66 million

TONO has four main distributions each year. Out of the total distribution amount this June of approximately EUR 18,9 million, approximately EUR 5,66 is distributed to TONO members. This represents approximately 30% of the total amount.

Furthermore, approximately EUR 12,81 is distributed to composers, lyricists, songwriters, and music publishers abroad. This represents approximately 68% of the total amount.

A reserve of approximately EUR 428,403 is also allocated for temporarily unidentified rightsholders and musical works, unreported musical works, non-members, and disputed rights. This reserve represents approximately 2% of the total amount.
